My friend died suddenly this morning. He was partially disabled due to a stroke five years ago but has been in good health and good spirits. No one saw it coming. Apparently he didn't have a clue that anything was wrong either; he'd left his empty coffee cup next to the coffee maker and the coffee was made, apparently he'd walked outside to let his little doggie do her thing... his house-mate found him on the porch. She called me earlier to let me know and I'm in shock...

Oh kitten, my deepest sincere condolences to you. I can understand the shock and severe loss this will have on you. I too had a long-time most dear person in my life die suddenly on New Years Eve a year ago. He held a very intimate part of me that is difficult to explain. His death brought forth many emotions....but interestingly, my fear of my own death has diminished since then.

I cannot imagine the loss for his wife, for I knew how wonderful a person he was. Through that, I know how devistated I'd be if my own husband died, and as I said....brought forth many emotions.

I've come to terms with his death, but it did take a year. I feel the loss still, but I now take much comfort that he was a part of my life rather than won't be anymore.

Take it a day at a time, and allow yourself to feel. If it's possible, be part of the healing process with his other friends. It takes time, and the emotions will be mixed.

Best to you,
quincy

(((Quincy)))) thanks...

Yes he is definately going to be missed, he meant so much in my life it just feels like a part of me is missing now, no one to share those little meaningless things with that we would spend hours talking about, *sigh*
