My boyfriend has a large tumor and small lesions in his right lung. He has had a cough for almost 3 months cause the tumor is blocking his airway. His blood tests are OK and there is no sign of cancer in other organs. Besides the cough, he has no other symptoms.
He will have a biopsy in a few days to determine if it is benign or malignant.
Doe anyone know if a tumor always means cancer, or can it be something else?

i have a question my doc wanted to x-ray me for my lungs, and the tests came back he wants me to go in to see him in about 3 weeks. he said its not bad that my lungs are clean of contaminents where i work, but my lung has something there. he said it could be attributing to my shortness of breath that i have had for the last 18 years. and that it could be blocking my airways, do you have any shortness of breath???

SJAJ: A tumor doesnt always mean cancer, that is why they do a biopsy, to determine whether it is cancerous or not. I hope that it is not, good luck and I will say a prayer for you. If it is cancer, I recommend doing as much research as you/he can. It helps understanding what your doctor is saying and taking responsibility and control over our own bodies is our duty. There is so much available on the internet too, you dont have to look hard to find what you are looking for.
Good luck again, Michele
