View Full Version : Stage 4 NSCLC and the use of ZD1839

Hello! My mother was diagnosed last July(01) with stage 4 NSCLC in both lungs. She started with a treatment of chemo until just before christmas. In her cat scan in Jan/02 the doc declared her cancerfree. She had another cat scan the last week in March and it has returned. Again in stage 4, the doc has offered her either more chemo or taking the ZD1839 once every 12 days. In everthing that I have read it states that the two should be combined or that the pill should be taken with greater frequency. Is this right? She lives in Canada, does this make a difference? Are there any trials that she could be in? The ones that I found have said not as she has had chemo twice in the last 5 yrs. Her first bout of cancer was three years ago with ovarian cancer and the chemo took care of that quiet well. Thank You everyone for taking the time to read this.

I'm not sure. I will keep you and your mother in my prayers.
