i recently had a physical done, and my doc had me get x rays done for my chest, because i work in a environment with bronze dust and metals. he said my lung were clear of contaminants like that, but my lung had a enlargement although i did not ask how big, he said he wanted me to come in and look at the x ray to explain better.
now i have had shortness of breath at times for about 16 years, and he told me not to worry that if it was major he would of called me and not mailed the results.i will see him in a couple weeks to discuss the results, he said perhaps a mri.
anyone think the shortness of breath is tied in with this lung problem?
and chances are could it be a tumor??
thanx.
other than that i hardly ever get sick i jog in the summer with no problems but i do cough a bit, and i don't smoke.

Lionel-
PLEASE get that looked at asap. Talk to an oncologist. You do not want to take a chance if it is cancer. Early detection is the best chance for survival.
Best wishes & good luck.

i just had my appointment yesterday and saw my x- rays and ct scan the pulmonary specialist told me that the doc for the swelling on my lung is normal for the area, and that it wasent in the area where the small growth is.
he showed me the small spot where the growth is upper right lung not near anything that would hamper my breathing which has been shortness of breath since 1986.
his view was it is a 1/2 cm. big.
no rough edges or any indication that its malignant or cancer.
he called it a solitary lymph node i think he said solitary. he told me not to worry and i have to have another ct scan in 9 months. anyone have any comments? they are welcome.
