I have a sensitive and personal, if not slightly embarassing question. A few weeks ago I recovered from the "stomach flu" and ever siince that episode, my stool has been a gold color whereas before it was a normal brown. Yes, I have hep c- was diagnosed 4 years ago.
I have not changed my diet, and for that matter, it never mattered what foods I consumed, the stool would always be a normal brown color.
I am concerned if this is normal for heppers to have pale looking stools at one time or another or possibly on a daily basis.

For now, you are just running low on the pigment that causes the brown color. IF after two weeks this keeps up, go see the doc. That intestinal flu is really difficult to recover from if you are in perfect health.

Thanks for replying- I was concerned maybe it was an isolated case at my job. I posted several weeks ago that at my job ( I am a nurse at a retirement home) and most of the residents, as well as the staff came down with vomitting and diarrhea that lasted 2-3 days. I was concerned it might be an isolated case and maybe it was hepatitis A. Everyone recovered, except for occassional nausea and loss of appetite for about 2 weeks. I dont know if this stomach flu is going around the nation, or if it was isolated. And because of this, my concern is that it was something "bad".
Guess I am just being paranoid because I already have the Hep C and would be quite upset if this stomach flu turned out to be Hepatits A. None of the residents or staff turned jaundice, and no one was tested to see if it was hep A- everyone there just thinks of it as a stomach flu, but I on the other hand am wigging out because of the color of my stool, thinking in the back of my mind that it could possibly be hep A. And I still get queasy feeling at times. Otherwise I am in good health and take no medications.
Have you heard of any outbreaks across the nation of the stomach flu?

Get vaccinated for hepA and hepB immediately.
Yes, there is an influenza outbreak across the nation. At least I am hearing from people from every corner who have it or are recovering from it.
Did I mention that you need to be vaccinated for heps A and B?

Is it a "stomach type flu" with nausea/vomitting and diarrhea or is it influenza which is respiratory or a little of both?
I actually have been vaccinated against hep b , but only received one shot of hep a, which I understand you need a booster a year later, but was not informed by my doc.
Thanks

I would think with that many people and most being elderly, there would have been several who would have been seriously ill if it were hepatitis instead of the flu.
