Hey all, just joined this site because i've been wondering...

is it possible to skip your period while on the patch (ortho evra), just like on the pill (so i've heard)? I just started the patch, and it's the first bc i've been on, but is it possible? Anyone ever tried it?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldn't find it. I've been looking for the answer to this question for a while now and here's hoping i'll get it here.

Thanks! :)

Yes it's possible. You just apply your next patch instead of taking a week off.

It works well for some women, but other women spot.

Ok thanks for answering! I was just wondering since because it's a different form of bc, but works the same as the pill, if it will give the same general "able to skip your period" results.

Now i know i'll be able to enjoy my vacation in peace and without the horrible disturbance. :bouncing:

I actually just finished my first 3 month cycle on the patch. I have my period now and the last time I had it was the tuesday after Thanksgiving! Today is the first day putting the patch on for my next 3 month cycle. It is great not to have to worry about it. I didn't really have too much side effects besides getting used to the patch (my breasts were killing me and grew a whole cup size! but that has gone away and I'm used to it now). I spotted once or twice but it was only what was on the tissue when I wiped. The only thing that was bad was that I ended up pregnant but I also had taken an antibiotic so that is probably what made it not as effective.. but I also miscarried the pregnancy. And I've always heard that bc stops pregnancy in 3 ways and the last way is to not allow the pregnancy to keep.. so I guess it did it's job.
