I read throughout your post from awhile back. I also suffer from harmful intrusive thoughts. I was hoping for you to find this post. I would like to talk to you about some of the questions and things you were posting about. Hopefully you are feeling better. I have suffered with the thoughts for a few years now. And, I understand the cycle of analyzing, questioning, doubting, ect. that one goes through when these thoughts happen. Anyone else who would like to jump in on this post is welcome. I think the more we share and ask of each other can only make us feel more "normal" knowing that we aren't alone. I battle it on a daily basis. Wondering, "Is it ocd this time, or am I just down right crazy now?" Why do I have such terrible, scary thoughts. I am on medication-Luvox, and go to therapy. Would love to just chat with anyone who suffers from these terrible harmful thoughts.

Just remember--having thoughts and actually going through (or being CAPABLE of going through) with thoughts are entirely eparate things. The more you get agitated and force these thoughts away, the more stimulating the become and the more in feels like an impulse. Just take a breath and calmly tell yourself--even laugh to yourself--that you would never do this, and it is just a silly thought. Let it flow through you, and past you. Oh, and then remember to exhale ;)

Hope you don't mind my barging in but I would love to chat with anyone who is going through this and can help me get through this with my 10 year old daughter. She was diagnosed about two weeks ago. I am trying to learn everything I can about ocd and these thoughts that go with it. I have been reading through the posts on this board for the past few days. I am really glad I found it because I was feeling like my daughter was the only one going through this. I always thought ocd just involved hand washing and a fear of germs. I never knew it involved the kind of thoughts she is having. She has the same kinds of thoughts that I have read some of you all have on this board. It is really hard for her and for me too as a Mom. We had our first appointment with the outpatient therapist yesterday and I feel really hopeful that we can deal with this. Anyway, just hoping to find some support here.

Hello, :)
I have a question(s). On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best you can feel...what would you say you are?
Secondly, does the Luvox eliminate the thoughts entirely, or just reduce their severity?
