I have been on Depo for 2 yrs now and I am considering getting off because when it comes to one month before my next shot is due, I start breakthrough bleeding (light) and heavy cramping. My doctor changed my injections to every 2 months and gave me estrogen pills to take during the time I bleed only. Well, since then (6 months ago), I have gained so much weight about 10 pounds and have been very irritable, mood swings, and having terrible headaches. I am wondering if anyone else has gone thru this and what did you experience. I think I need to get off the Depo Provera now. Any thoughts? My 2 months is up and I am starting again with the severe cramping. I am considering switching to Alesse.

Definately consider alternative forms of birth control.
