Most women will have an anovulatory cycle at one time or another. It means you didn't ovulate and probably started bleeding because your lining built up to a point where it couldn't sustain itself. Symptoms would be irregular cycles. The only way to know for sure (besides seeing a doctor) is charting your basal body temperature.
