View Full Version : Two questions

First of all I've made an appt to see my doctor. I am going to ask him to do some tests or refer me to someone who will. These are the tests I am requesting:

Saliva testing: estradiol, progesterone and the 4 cortisols

Blood tests:
ACTH stim test
TSH
free t3
free t4
4 hour glucose tolerance test
TPO Ab (thyroid autoantibodies)

So am I missing anything? I had considered the FSH and LH but my cycles are regular (although once my normal flow is done I spot bleed and cramp until ovulation). I was also curious about testosterone and DHEA but my understanding of these hormones is limited.

Now for my second question. I have been having chest pain since my flare up (caused by a medically induced fever if that makes sense) in November. It started out as chest pain when I inhaled and hoarseness. The pain was mild (it was very severe during the fever) so I figured it was no big deal. Every once in a while if I became upset, talked a lot or was active I became short of breath. Again it didn't seem like a big deal. However, I am now having problems several times a week. When it occurs it feels like I have a heavy weight on my chest and it's difficult to breath. The chest pain is usually in the center of my chest behind my breast bone and at times it feels like my trachea is closing off. Obviously if it were severe I'd go to ER so it's more of an irritation and not a scary life-threatening type thing. It makes me a little light-headed and it helps if I sit up (lying down makes me feel like I'm suffocating).

Does this sound like asthma or pleurisy?

Anyway, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask :) .

Love and Prayers, Kelly

Dear Kelly,

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. Just thought I'd post this short "ditty" to bump your post back up so that others might see it, and you might get an answer! ~ Tracy
