JUst over a month ago, I had pneumonia. I have Addisons Disease anyway. After a couple of weeks they sent me home and I had a panic attack that I was going to die. Then I had a blood trst which showed that my immune system was still battling something (all cool) positive pneumonia has gone now. I took Doxsig, and since then I have felt off balance. I feel funny sensations in my brain and It hurts to shake me head. The doctor thinks I am suffereing from Post Traumatic Stress and prescribed something that messes with the chemicals in my brain. (Scary stuff) Zyprexa. I think It could be caused by soemthign to do with an inner ear infection, or the result of a drug, but the doctor won't seem to listen to me. I never had these symptoms or panic attacks before I got pneumonia. I have had:

Sinuses being blocked up like I can hardly breathe (but my sinuses are dry)
Lump in the left side of my throat.
Tingling in the left side of my head
Extreme dizziness like I can’t take breath (worse after taking Zyprexa)
Tightening of the throat
Numbness or the feeling of cold in my feet (even though they are completely normal to touch)
Brain fog
Feeling like something is crawling within my brain.
Fear that I will never be normal again.
Can’t cry properly.
Feeling like my equilibrium has been chucked off.
Muscular contractions
Emotional, sometimes I cry for no reason.
Dry eyes and vision problems.
Craving for sweet foods.
Popping in my ears.
Sweating in my feet and hands
Disinterest in my surroundings.

Has anyone else had all of these. Could I have upset the balance of my inner ear or brain. I don't think I have a brain tumor, or anything, but thinking about it induces a panic attack. Who would people on this board go to see? Does this sound like an inner ear disorder or something to do with my brain? Or can soemone just send me an e-hug cause I'm having a really tough time.

hi and welcome!

it could have affected the fluid in your inner ear, maybe made it thicker or damaged the hairs that recieve information...? i'm not really sure. i'm hoping subs30 will answer this one. the best advice i can give you is to drink lots of water and stay away from soduim. thats sort of the basics for all of us. say away from caffine, sugar (ya right!), salty food, and take a multivitamin. i wish i had better advice to give you
hang in there

Could be post viral stuff?? After your pneumonia etc.

Not sure on this one. Some of the symptoms are inner ear related but many are not. The dizziness you describe sounds like anxiety related dizziness. You could have something which is then provoking anxiety/panic which is then causing a lot more symptoms.

Sounds like maybe you are getting over your illness, plus reacting to the drugs and inner-ear symptoms too. You'll be ok!! Just try and take the fear out - think calmly about what might be wrong and remember that you won't feel like this forever!!! Don't worry lots of people on this board are very knowledgable and may well give you some great advice!
