Hi. I am new to this board.

Our 13 year old daughter was placed on Adderall when she was 10. She was on Adderall (varying strengths, finally 10 mg 2x/day) for 14 months. Our family doctor here in Georgia agreed with the GA (county un-named) school system that our daughter was ADD. Our family doctor in Michigan and the school system there did NOT consider her to be ADD. We had questions about the diagnosis and was told that the only way to know if it's ADD is whether the meds work or not. If the meds don't work, then her condition would be something far more serious, but the only way to find out is to place her on meds and see if they work.

She lost between 15-20 pounds in 14 months, going from approxmently 75 pounds to under 60 pounds. We were assured by the doctor that this was normal and that she was not losing too much weight, but when she DROPPED in size from a slender 12 (girls) to a 6 (little girls), we took her off the meds, as there was only minimal effect on the "ADD" and we felt that her low weight was of more concern.

She now - probably for 9 - 12 months has been experiencing her heart "stopping" as she describes it.

Has anyone had any experiences similar? Please respond. Thank you.
