Can you drink to much water? And is it bad to flavor your water with limon juice or crystal light? I am trying really hard to drink more but it gets kind of old tasting after a while.
Thanks,
Thanks,

nascargirl9 03-01-2005, 02:05 PM Can you drink to much water? And is it bad to flavor your water with limon juice or crystal light? I am trying really hard to drink more but it gets kind of old tasting after a while. Thanks, Sponsor ChappyBoy 03-01-2005, 02:25 PM There is such a thing as drinking too much water. Do not worry about this, it is an insane amount and I have never seen anyone do it. Crystal light is crap and I would try to just add some natural lemonor lime if possible. BostonGirl44 03-01-2005, 04:25 PM I bought a water bottle and add either lemon or lime. Much better than crystal light. :) The Len 03-02-2005, 11:33 PM Pure bottled water and water using a Brita filter is the best. If you need flavor look for bottled water called "Glacial Ice". There is one with lemon flavor and it's fortified with calcium, vitamin b and c. And you know calcium is a much needed mineral especially for women to prevent osteoporosis later in life and natural bone loss that comes with growing older. cinnamongirl_9 03-05-2005, 08:13 PM I agree about the Crystal Lite- you're way better off without it. Too many artificial ingredients going on. Natural lemon or lime is ideal. Herb tea counts, too! It doesn't contain caffine- which actually removes water from your body. Black tea (regualar AND decaf,) green tea, and white tea all contain caffine. lag_saxet 03-05-2005, 08:23 PM The lemon helps fix oxygen and calciums in the liver because it regulates blood carbohydrate levels which affect the blood oxygen levels. I keep sliced lemon on the kitchen counter at all times to add to my water, along with a slight amount of Splenda. Yes you can drink too much water. The recommended amount is 8 glasses a day. However, you must take in to account your weight. If you are over weight you add 1 more glass for each 25 lbs. washee 03-05-2005, 09:50 PM You can drink too much water and it can throw your electrolytes off and cause intoxication (of course that is an insane amount) but I think 8 glasses is on the low side. Like the other poster said its based on weight, but its also based on how much you sweat, the weather and how much caffeine you drink (For each drink with caffeine you need an extra one with water. As for adding slice some lemons or limes or both, the crystal light has aspertame and I myself don't count drinks with chemicals as water. lag_saxet 03-05-2005, 09:56 PM Also if you drink alcohol in excess amounts...you are right about the caffeine etc. In my opinion we should all think of water as a cleanser as well as a needed. If we over do in bad things we must make up for it. nascargirl9 03-07-2005, 04:25 PM Thank ya'll I did buy a bottle of limon juice and add that to my water about everyother glass b/c i was getting a sore place in my mouth. But I a happy to say that I think I am doing real good about drinking it. Thank ya'll again. Emily  uglynow 03-08-2005, 12:52 PM Hi, I try to drink about 2 liters a day at work (I drink tea in the morning and I like wine with dinner, so I figure I could use as much water as I can) If you don't like lemon, I've found that (now I know it sounds a bit strange) thin slices of cucumber give your water a wonderful slight fresh sweetness. Try it! It would be best if you drink your water pure, but if it gets too boring try the cucumber. Good Luck! nascargirl9 03-08-2005, 02:24 PM THAT IS A GOOD ONE. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT BUT I AM WILLING TO GIVE IT A TRY. :) THANSK  uglynow 03-08-2005, 02:38 PM Let me know how you like it. I found it once at a bar - got a glass of water, it tasted so nice that I asked the bartender what was in it (it wasn't lemon, for sure!) - he showed me the pitcher and there were cucumber slices floating around instead of the usual lemon or lime "it's our little secret", he said.... :p oops, guess not much of a secret any more. I've also heard of some fad diet where you would fill a pitcher with water and cucumber slices and it makes you lose weight.. who knows. Hope you like it! :) k9mom007 03-09-2005, 07:33 PM slice a couple of strawberries and toss them in the water...just about any fresh fruit will work....I do it all the time. |
