evening all (well if you live in england anyway!). i was just wondering what muscels/ muscel groups rowing machines use. is it just your arms it works or your legs and abs too? please enlighten me. i do loads of cycling and have strong legs but want to get a bit more upper body strength but not become arne, just more toned.

Hey Alex-

Rowing bi's, back, some abs, and some legs but this is really more cardio. For faster results how about some circuit training?

heya chappy. what is circuit training exactly? where you do different exercises in a circuit and then start it all again or something else? i saw you mentioned bi but what about shoulders? does it not work them at all?

Yes, circuit training would be moving through 1 exercise per bodypart with minimal rest for an overall training.

As far as rowing for shoulders it will hit the rear delt but has minimal impact on the front and lateral delt.
