a year ago I quit smoking after 9 years of smoking. Shortly after that I started getting sick pretty often and then all of a sudden I had an enlarged lymph node that was really painfull, and it was in my armpit. Its been about 6 months since I started getting them. I always get them one at a time. And its usually left, then right. While I was getting painfull enlarged lymphs I started feeling really sick and that lasted a few months, I was getting some pains in the lungs, was diagnosed with sinus infection and I was getting mild discomfort in my stomach. I was going through a lot of stress at that time so it didn't help either. After little while I started feeling better and started doing quite a bit of excersise and dieting. I felt better but lymphs still do get enlarged and get painfull. I did a series of blood tests and everything came back as normal. I am confused and scared. Doctors seem to not know whats wrong with me and they look at me like I am alright. I believe I am not alright as I feel seek and stressed. My personal life is gone down hill as i come from work and don't want to do anything with anyone, I am having hard time concentrating on things also. if anyone experienced anything close to this can you tell me what to do.
Also I had chest x-ray done and that came back good and when I did x-ray for sinuses they said I had sinus infection but that was over 6 months ago and I can breathe better right now. Not perfect as one of my nostrils is always plugged up, but at least I can use my nose. And sometimes I get mild headaches that will come for no longer than 2 mins and go away.

thank you

We are a support group and can not give you a diagnosis, but we can make suggestions for you to take and ask your doctor about. It sounds like you could have a variety of different problems, none of which are life threatening but could be very annoying. If your nose is plugged, you are probably not getting enough oxygen when you sleep. This could make you feel tired and irritable during the day. If your nose is staying plugged, you may have a little left over infection nagging at you. Antibiotics alone will cause depression and lymph node enlargement as a side effect. I have had some strong antibiotics in the past that made me feel worse for a while after I took them. All of these things can be very annoying without being life threatening and therefore a doctor looking for a serious problem would definitely say you are ok. If you don't feel better pretty soon, ask the doctor to take another look at your sinus infection.

I haven't taken any antibiotics in about 4 months so I don't think that would be it.
