View Full Version : Do any of you have any insight on what this could be?

My dh has many moles. He's had several removed and I'd say half of them have come back atypical. Anyway, he sees a derm for a check quite often and is due for his check-up this month sometime. Yesterday morn he woke up and had 3 red itchy spots on his chest. He thought that before this that there was something there. What he describes to me sounds like it might have been one of those seborrhic (sp?) keritosis things. But I'm not sure as I did not see it prior to this. The one is less than the size of a pencil eraser and the other two around it are even smaller. He said they itched. I told him to go to the derm to be on the safe side. But could this be a melanoma? I didn't think they appeared in a cluster. I think he's more worried than he is letting on. I tend to think it could be some kind of dermititis. Today, he said they are still red but not itchy.

What do you think? Have you heard melanomas growing in a cluster like that or appearing in a cluster like that? Or do you think it's something else? He will be seen, but just wanted to get an idea of what you all think.

Thanks!

I've never heard of melanoma forming in clustered red spots, but with this disease, I guess you can never know until a pro sees it.

Could it possibly be just a little rash? Maybe something irritated his chest.

Are they crusty, or smooth bumps?

Sounds like he had an allergic reaction to something that caused him to have eczema or hives. Put some Aveeno anti itch cream on it and see if the itch goes away.
