I ordered a home test online and sent it back in and am just waiting anxiously for the results. I am 28 years old and have had unprotected sex and while I was pregnant with my 10 month old daughter I had an abnormal pap. After I had my daughter I had a colposcopy and that is when my doctor found that I had a HPV. I had one little spot and he removed it. I am just really scared that since I have that, have had unprotected sex and became sick I might have HIV. Are you automatically tested for HIV while you are pregnant? After I had my daughter I had unprotected sex with two different men, but they didn't ejaculate inside of me. Should I be worried about having HIV? I am so worried and even if my test comes back negative I will never again have unprotected sex. The worrying is the worst. Please help me. Thank you.

I understand how you are feeling. I am waiting for my results too. I am due to get them tomorrow. I am pregnant and can tell you my experience. You must sign a special consent form allowing yourself to be tested for HIV. I believe that is standard. I don't think you can be tested without your knowledge. I said a little prayer for you. I hope it helps. Please be strong- you have made the first step and you took the test. I hope for a happy outcome for you.

I too am scared. And I too hope for the best for both of you. I had unprotected sex 6 years ago, and that one time still haunts me. I should have gotten tested ages ago. I really hope everything is alright. Sometimes I feel confident, but then I feel like I shouldn't be allowed to be confident and I go back to feeling terrible. Sometimes I envision promising results and think that if I think too positively then I'll doom myself or something. This is absolutely the hardest stress I have ever had to deal with.

First of all you did the right thing by getting tested now do the rest and get you're results . Colds and flus are very common and normal but when you're stressed and have (HIV) on the brain everything is a symtom . Its more damaging to obsess than the virus itself because most importantly of all you need to keep a clear head . Posative or negative the mental stress can be very overwelming and the last thing you need is a breakdown . Lean on us were here for support .

Thank you so much for your thoughts and words of encouragement. I received my test results last week before I left for vacation with my family. I tested negative. Thank God. Thank you for your prayers. I am praying for you all too. Now I am going to be really careful and not put myself in this situation of worrying and danger again. Take care of yourselves.
