Has anyone ever experienced or heard of a mistaken diagnosis of miscarriage. I have read of people who were told theyd miscarried and even had a d+c and still ended up having healthy, full term babies. What do you think? I dont want to get my hopes up but just want to know if anyone can offer any knowledge on the subject. I have been mislead and misinformed since i started bleeding slightly a week ago. more details to those who reply, thanks.

I thought D+C meant they remove everything from the uterus?

I've not heard of that I must say. I suppose it's possible that following heavy bleeding a miscarriage might be diagnosed when in fact the pregnancy was still intact.
As to whether the pregnancy could continue after a D&C I think USPS84 is right, a D&C is to clear the uterus so there wouldn't be anything left.

If you are experiencing bleeding then the doctor or hospital should be able to do an ultrasound to check for the baby's heartbeat and give you a definite answer on whether the pregnancy has miscarried or not.

I hope you manage to get some definite answers soon.
