Dads condition is daily getting worse. With less activity sometimes, but yet sometimes good. But this morning I dont even think my feet hit the floor, around 6am I heard this terrible scream, our rooms are right across from one another. Mom had gotten up to make coffee and Dad must have forgotten, which is getting worse, but must have forgotten he needs help so he got to his feet and sometimes he doesnt need help but sometimes he does, so to prevent injury from falling someone is with him, and he uses his quad cane, but this time he had to use the bathroom and when he got up he fell over to the right and landed his right side on the end table and was stuck between the bed and table, course the impact of the fall fractured a rib, but he didnt hit the floor thank god, he would have broken his hip, since the houses in FL all have cement floors. He is now suffering from the pain from the fall, the pain in his left side from the where the drainage tube was, and the ordinary chest, shoulder and back pain from the cancer. He is up to 2 loratabs as needed. He is just having to go through so much which I knew might come. Anyway I got him up and I believe I picked him up and sat him back on the bed. He doesnt weigh much now, but I know the after shock of seeing my father made me sick to my stomach, and I broke out in a cold sweat and vomitted. Hospice has been so good, we called right away and they sent help to check him out, and then another nurse came by later on to check again, I also asked for a bed rail for his bed and a walker, he doesnt want a hospital bed as yet so gradually we are stepping our way to more equipment to help him and us also. I also suggested a monitor so we can have one in his room constantly and the mobile one with us throughout the house so while he is resting, sleeping, we can hear him and all he has to do is gently call our name and it has eased his mind and ours, I have it with me right now and can even hear him breathing, I suggest one for the care giver It will help.. It is 1am hear and I cant sleep, thanks for the board. May God bless everyone and keep them in his arms Thanks Eva
