I used to come here alot under a different name. Went to an ED center and
thought I was cured. Got married, went on a honeymoon and bam! went right back to b/p. Now I do it only once every 2 weks or so which is a huge improvement...But I always think of food, weight, cellulite, and chew soooooooooomuch gum it makes me sick! I eat normal. I want to know how many calories a normal weight 28 yr. old semi- active girl should eat in a day to stay at the same weight. I hear 2,000 cals, and 1,800. I know 1200 is too low. But I want a rough idea of what I should be consuming. How can i quit gum? Any one else addicted to it too? :wave:

Im not sure about the cals but i am definetly with you on the gum. Its rediculous how much i chew a day. If im hungry, pop another piece. I am constantly chewing on gum. its getting to where when i wake up, my jaw is sore from the day before of chewing it! I wish I could help you out on the other part of your question, you might want to ask the weight loss post as well to get an accurate amount. God Bless you and good luck!

I don't even chew out of hunger...I'ts such a compulsion. I go through 2 -3 BIG packs of gum a day on top of my meals. I cannot go without it. I used to smoke. I guess 1 thing to another.

Yeah, I'm with you on the gum. I chew a lot of Big Red. I started so I wouldn't eat.. I just needed the flavor. I'd chew 4-6 sticks a day. I still chew about 3, even though I'm eating now. No other flavor gum will even do. It's weird. Well the gum is better than smoking.. maybe you can quit it like you did smoking.. just try to cut down, little by little.
There are a lot of online calculators that can tell you how many calories girl of your height/weight/activity level should be having. It might help to see a nutritionist too. They can help you plan out your meals.. I know I was very lost about food when I started recovering.

Hi there, I'm also adicted to gum :D It's only hit me recently how much I get through each day, it's crazy! Sometimes I'll eat it compulsively, like chew a bit then pop a new one and go through a whole packet in just a few minutes!! I need to try and stop. At one point I was drinking diet coke by the gallon and stopped it as I thought it would be bad what with the acid and sweeteners; but I think I'm now compensating with the gum. Doh, why can't I just be normal?!

This is weird, but I never realized that it was unusal to chew so much gum a day! I usually chew 1/2 or 1 pack of a big pack of gum per day. Walmart has a new flavor that I love! Extra's sugarfree Cool Green Apple! But... I have always loved gum. I usually chew it till the sugar is out then (I swallow it!!! ) I know that isn't what your mother told you! :nono:

yeh, im with the gum thing too, but 2 answer ur question kytten, um.. im not shure whats the ideal weight for a women ur size, but u need to eat at least 1800 calories per day. i know that forshure. um.....try going on a site that tells u ur BMI? i dunno, that may answer question
