unknown_1 03-03-2005, 08:47 PM i think i might b a diabetic i need help if i am i feel high everytime i eat my lower stomach hurts and i get really shacky, ive also had other symptoms wat should i do if i am hight to help lower it Linda1629 03-04-2005, 07:34 AM You could have any number of problems. If you eat and then have stomach pains you could have celiac (which is a reaction to gluten) or you could have some other type of stomach condition. If you have diabetes you shouldn't feel shakey when you eat but when you need to eat although I'm sure different people can have different reactions. Some other symptoms of diabetes are frequent urination, excessive drinking or eating, unexplained weight loss, dehydration, blurry vision. You would eventually have stomach pains (from the dehydration) and possibly vomiting but by that point you're on your way to the ER (or should be) because you feel so lousy. If you have any of those symptoms then yeah, it's possible that you have diabetes but you need a doctor to check for you with a simple blood test or if you know someone with diabetes then you could ask to borrow their home glucose meter and check your own blood sugar. Check when you haven't eaten for at least 2 hours. If your number is above 126 then see a doctor as soon as possible. I would think with the symptoms you have that you're going to make an appointment to see a doctor anyway. Maybe it's something simple that can be taken care of fairly easily. I hope so! regionals18 03-07-2005, 09:52 PM i got a glucose meter wats to low? SamQKitty 03-08-2005, 12:51 AM Too low is anything below 70. If you're at 70, you should eat 15 grams of carbs to bring your blood glucose up (unless it's just before a meal, then just eat your meal). If you're way below 70...say in the 40's or 50's, you may feel very shaky and want to eat everything in sight. Do not allow yourself to do this, as you may well experience a rebound high. Eat your 15 grams of carbs, wait 15 minutes and test again. If you're still far below 70, eat another 15 grams of carbs and retest in another 15 minutes. Keep doing this until you get to 70 (or close to it...once you get to the high 60's, wait an extra 15 minutes to see if your bg is still going up before dosing with more carbs). Ruth regionals18 03-08-2005, 03:52 PM thax im 139? wat should i do Linda1629 03-08-2005, 04:08 PM Was the reading of 139 taken when you hadn't eaten anything for at least 2 hours? If you can, test your blood sugar in the morning, before you eat or drink anything. If it's over 120 then call a doctor for an appointment. 139 isn't bad if you've just eaten or have eaten recently. regionals18 03-08-2005, 05:31 PM with that i didnt eat or drink anything for 3 hrs i took it again and it was 40 after two hours of not eating or drinking regionals18 03-08-2005, 10:31 PM help im low and i feel really sick... im dizzy, weak, blood rush feeling, i just dont feel good... plz any advice im not hungry and i already ate its not helping regionals18 03-09-2005, 07:16 AM this is my other name fyi i am also unknown_1 ok any wys i did wat u said and tested in the morning b4 eating and im 168!
