Hey everyone. It will be a week tomorrow since I put my dear dad on hospice. He lasted 4 days after hospice began. Now it is mom's turn. She is just withering away. She refuses to eat or drink (she is 92 lbs)she is very very weak and can no longer assist when we try to move her from the bed to the wheelchair. Since Dad died last Saturday she has cried all the time and snapped at all of us. She is also angry alot of the time and doesn't want visitors or anyone talking to her. The cancer has spread to her brain before - and it was removed and this is how she acted then, so I wouldn't be suprised to find out that it had returned to the brain. Anyway, hospice will sign her up this afternoon. I really thought they did a great job with dad and am thankful that there is such a program, but it is hard to think of what that means, putting someone on hospice I mean, anyway keep us in your prayers it is hard loosing them both at once. But dad will be so happy when mom comes through the gate!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
