Hello,

I just wanted to inform everyone that Walter is in the hospital with pneumonia. He came down with a cold Thursday, and by Saturday he had a terrible cough and temperature. The doctor admitted him to the hospital. I don't know much more than that right now, I'm waiting for the X-rays to be read. All I know is that his oxygen sats are something like 91% and there is talk of wanting to put him on a respirator.

Thanks for listening,
Dana

Dana,

I'm so sorry to hear Walter is ill. My own dear husband just got out of the hospital where he was treated for pneumonia. He had raging fevers and was on a respirator for two days. He's still weak but he's doing better. He is in a lot of pain, and I hope his suffering ends soon, either by way of remission or death.

I know to someone as young as yourself, and I assume you are young as you've recently given birth, that sounds awful, but it's true, you find yourself praying for their peace any way you you can.

I will pray for your Walter as well, and the he has as good and full of recovery as possible.

Thinking of you,
Maggie

Walter is a little bit better today. His temperature is down and he's a little more alert. He's still telling the nurse about a buring sensation in his chest and extreme difficulty taking a breath. When I ask him, he tells me he's "Fine" and asks about the children. I try to tell him that I can't help if he isn't honest with me, but he doesn't seem to get that. Why is he so stubborn? Does he think I can't handle it. I only want to help him, yet he doesn't understand.

Also, what's the deal with chemo now that he's ill, do they have to hold off on the dosage? How does that usually work?

Dana
