I've been taking the chewable DGL for a little over a week now, and i can say with some certainty that it is helping a little with the stomach pain. Seems less severe and less often now, but still having a little pain, upset stomach, and reflux. I suppose that means there has been some damage to the stomach lining and the DGL is starting to help.
Since PPIs alone don't seem to be doing the job for me I am going to ask my GI if he thinks either of these drugs would be helpful, I have read a little on each helping to protect the stomach lining. My question is has anyone had any success with using Carafate or Cytotec?

You mentioned that you are seeing a GI. Has the GI tried to give you anything? I took carafate gor awhile and it helped some. Actually I got a prscription for a GI coctail (same thing they gave me in the Er) which helped alot but it was temporary. I also took DGL for awhile, along with marshmallow root, and many other herbs that didn't seem to give me any quick fix. I think looking back that a good diet helped my gastrits to heal more than anything else. However, everyone's body is different so one of the prscriptions or herbs may help more so than they did for me. I haven't heard of Cytotec so I can't help there. Good luck!

Manuka honey is also good for the stomach lining along with moderate doses of zinc/vitamin C/B/E / L-Glutamine.
