We use a pari neb cup and compressor for the tobi and it seems to take FOREVER! Product literature says to use the pari neb cup but a devilbliss compressor and it should only take 15 minutes. Just wondering what other people do. Currently tobi treatments alone take 35-40 minutes. Toying with the idea of purchasing a second nebulizer to cut down on treatment times, but don't want to spend $100 on a new compressor if it's not going to save us time.

My son doesn't have CF, but gets TOBI from time to time for recurrent lung infections. I have always been told that there will always be some - up to 1cc - residual left in the neb cup.

It takes my husband the same about time...35-40 mins...
we know he is completely done when there is no mist coming out of the pari cup-
what we usually do is in the mornings i set the alarm to get 2 hours earlier than usual...and i start him on his albuteral because he does that first
and thats a good 30 mins then i set the alarm again for about 40 mins and start him on his TOBI or gentimicin which takes alittle longer than the TOBI does..
we dont mind it but then again we are probaly used to it by now
good luck!

At my inlaws we have an older pulmoaid compressor that we use when visiting and I notice that even though it's about 10-12 years old, the tobi only takes 25 minutes on that machine compared to the pari compressor we have at home which takes 40-45 minutes. But at this point rather than buy a new machine, we're thinking about getting one of those pari treks when ds is older to use on trips and while travelling to the city for appointments.
The morning treatment is fine 'cuz I get up and do CPT, then put the tobi in the neb cup and hand ds off to my husband who dozes with DS while I get ready for work. The one after work is more difficult 'cuz we're trying to get CPT done, dinner ready, drugs mixed for the next day and keep a busy toddler occupied. Lately we've been able to distract him with the same spongebob tape over and over again.
