View Full Version : Update on Father

Dad went for his second round of low dose chemo last Friday and told his doctor he has a pain in the lung area. They took x-rays and found the cancer has wrapped itself around his rib threatening to break it. They opted not to do the chemo. Instead they scheduled an appointment to discuss radiation treatments. Tomorrow he has to go to the hospital to be "marked" for the radiation treatments and then next Mon-Fri and the following Mon-Fri he will receive the treatments. I was also told that his oncologist told him he has 2 months to live. Very different diagnosis then a couple of weeks ago.

My father comes to my office every day and lets me know how he is. My mother still isn't speaking to me. When my father can't come to my office, I guess I will barge my way into their house to make sure he is being taken care of.

I would like to just make a comment about all the recent posts on this board. If I have not extended my sympathy to all who have had a loss or even good news, I apologize. I read everyone's posts every day but usually wind up in tears unable to respond not knowing how to put in words my sadness. So please know that I pray for all of you and support everyone totally.

Dear Nancy Ellen, I am so sorry to hear about your father. Life can be so cruel sometimes. I think you are being very brave and I admire you for the courage you have. Your father is being very brave too, and I wish him well in his treatment. My thoughts and prayers are with you both, God bless, Ann.

Ann, what can I say. I hope you are taking care of yourself, too. Your mother must be very, very angry if she won't speak to you. I cannot imagine your pain. Give her lots of space and time. She will eventually be back to you.

Please take care of yourself.

Mary
