Good morning Mariea,
I am new to TMJ myself, but what you wrote sounds like some of what bothers me. Except mine is mostly on my rt side. I was very paranoid about tumors, etc, when I started hurting. If it will ease your mind, go and have it checked. I did. I never hurts to be seen by a doctor anyway. I hope you start feeling better. :)

Sounds like some of my symptoms too. I have been checked out and have had a CT scan (which showed normal). I was worried about tumours too... still am a little, as I haven't had an MRI, but my doctor does not feel it is necessary since i have no neuorolgical symptoms (ie, no reflex problems, and a perfect hearing test).. It is only recently that I too am wondering if it is TMJ related. I have had TMJ for years, but have little to no pain in the joint itself.
Best thing is to get checked out. Then you will be able to sleep better knowing there is nothing to worry about.

Definately the jaw noises and pains are a dead giveaway that you do have some kind of TMJ too.
