I had 5 unsuccessful jaw arthroscopies and lots of issues with my TMJ until I found Dr Hoffman he takes care of everything from wisdom teeth to complete facial reconstruction the man is amazing. :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing:

He's really wonderful and has been specializing in TMJ/maxillo-facial realated problems for decades. The surgery he did on me was one of the newest and least-invasive surgeries available. That was over a year and half ago and I'm still at nearly pre-TMJD status. He is also very honest and won't give anyone a run-around or perform any procedure that he doesn't believe necessary or won't have a reasonable chance of success.

i have , .had tmj for 23 yrs. i have been to many different DRS. thru the yrs. with no help. i have finally found a wonderful, caring DR. He is the only Dentist in the U.S. that holds a PH.D in his field. He only treats TMJ sufferers.He is a Godsend. i thought i would have to live with this horrible pain for the rest of my life.His name is DR. Ira Klemons, in South Amboy, N.J. i can't say enough great things about him.

This was the best doctor I have ever seen for anything. He was kind, considerate, (not too expensive!) and thorough. I walked away from his appointments with the feeling that I was healing just from speaking to him. I'll never forget how he helped me manage my stress, and get a working splint to ease my pain. A true gentleman, with a great sense of humor!

Dr. David Lerner, Fishkill, NY - he actually had this condition when he was younger himself.
My problem was that I had my lower jaw mis-aligned due to the mal-practice of other dentists who didn't know what they were doing, and who charged me $$$ to make the mis-alignment more permanent by guesswork ortho and restorations.
He has helped me greatly in accuratly diagnosing and reversing this work.
note: Dr. Lerner has just moved to a town further south, Peekskill NY I believe, near the REMOVED, and he is right off the REMOVED.

I came to know Dr. Joe Foote, in the summer of 1998 or 1999, when all other measures to find the cause of my jaw pain, quickly became exhausted. I did the whole gammet of dentists, other OMS docs, ENT specialists, annd the varying test each doc put me through to only say they could not find a cause. In January of 2000, I was in a bad car accident (on my way home from an office visit with Dr. Foote..believe that!??!)
My treatments with Dr. Foote have shown me his superior knowledge of TMJ and the folks it affects everyday. His "bed-side" manor is like no ther doctor I have ever met.
He also impressed me with the way he conducts his business too. He always looks for the least invasive procedure before resorting to any type of TMJ replacement work. I went down that 9 year long road with him. Once my car accident happened, he did tell me I would most likely become a candidate for total replacement, as my left TMJ had sustained alot of damage in the impact. My point is, Dr. Foote is NOT an ambulance chaser. His genuine concern IS always his patients.
I had the total replacemnt done on 4/30/09..and it's the best decision I made. I will write more, in detail, on the TMJ total, on the thread where a story is told.
Best to all of you with TMJ...truthfully, I do feel your pain.

Fantastic surgeon is Dr. David Hoffman!

He is a surgeon but avoids surgery at all costs. Highly recommend if you are considering surgery, anything from arthroscopic to joint replacement (and he currently holds a patent on the Hoffman-Pappas TMJ Replacement System!!).
