Hi everybody I have a neurologist app. coming up really soon and my question is what happens and what kinda tests are done?

my back ground is:
i have a herniated disc ( ortho said that i can do rehab and beat it )
at the same time i have scoliosis
age 29
its been like this since june 2004
i've been doing physio, did the chiro thing and now i'm at a sports medicine doc.

can anyone help me prep for this app.
all i know from the research that i've done is that if i have nerve damage then i'm gonna have to do surgeroy

Welcome!

Usually the first tests are assessing your reflexes (pressure on your ankle with their hands, for example). Fairly straightforward and painless.

If you have any nerve problems (tingling, numbness, etc.), they may recommend an EMG/Nerve Conductivity test. Places discs on various locations, and sends electrical currents to see what nerves are potentially damaged. Painful, but not by much (for me, at least). Takes more time than the reflex test.

Hope this helps, and keep us posted!
