Thanks, Keraly: I'm taking your advice

Does anyone know anything about Pheochromocytoma? Has anyone been diagnosed with it, do you still have it, or have you already had surgery? How did it go? What were your symptoms?

Any help, even second hand help, will be appreciated. Thanks
My Dad

Hi "My Dad",
I am currently being investigated for a pheo because they found an adrenal adenoma on a CT scan. I can't really tell you much though, as my symptoms and lab tests seem to be confusing all the docs and at the current time, they don't "think" it's a pheo. There are some really good websites with info on pheo's out there, so do a search and see what comes up. My symptoms have left me unable to work for the past 2 months and I'm only 25 years old. It's an extremely frustrating experience. Has your Dad been diagnosed? Was/is he experiencing "attacks" or had lab tests done yet? He's lucky to have such a supportive family. As I'm sure you've read on these boards, most people have had to fight their way to a diagnosis in regards to adrenal gland function. Every bit of support along the way helps.
HB.

Hello, heb12:
I hope I keep this short, unlike other posts I've made when presented with potentially good news. But don't count on it. (I yam what I yam & that's all that I yam, I'm Popeye the Sailor man") I'm sorry if you don't understand that. I'm too old & you're too young, but please understand my mind.
I'm trying to keep two lovely 85+ y/o people I call my Ma & Dad in their own house as long as I can, & they are worse than raising my kids. Other members, you understand.

Thanks for responding. Finally! A voice in the wilderness! You are the first person to really respond to this, despite the many boards I have tried. Even though you are not a Doctor, (me too), at least "I have contact". Thank you!

But I want to tell you this: My main motivation for joining this site was to try to help my elderly Dad with his problems on another board. I only thought about the Pheochromocytoma because I heard a vague reference to it on another board, & they didn't know anything.

I'm the one with Pheo issues. I'm sorry if I was too vague. This is for MY old problem, which started 18+ years ago. This is a problem that I forgot about way back whenever. I haven't thought about it in years. I won't go into details at this time. I want to know your symptoms before I contaminate the honest "back and forth" dialogue.

Don't be FREAKED OUT by that. There are no wrong answers. Maybe I'm wrong, which explains why I haven't thought about it in so many years. Nothing you say can possibly be wrong. Just honest, as best you can remember. That goes for anyone else who sees this. There is no booby prize. Just honest answers, from amateurs like you, to amateurs like me.

OK, My "not over the top" message has gone on long enough. Please respond, anybody! I will never call you wrong, because I don't know what's right. Over the top, that's me. But I can't call you wrong!

Thanx
My Dad
