Hi everyone,
I am writing this on behalf of my wife, who became ill about 8 weeks ago (details to be forthcoming). She is not getting worse, but she's not improving either. The Dr. have started to toss in CFS, but I think it's too early for that diagnosis. She first presented with decreased apetite, night sweats and weight loss. We did every concievable test...scopes, viruses, CT scans, MRIs etc...no tumors, no nothing. The list of disorders she does not have is quite long. She also has extreme fatique and muscle pain...particularly in her legs...this has persisted and seems to be worse in the AM. This has certainly induced an obvious depression which is not being helped by antidepressants. She feels so bad and there is nothing on the horizon to help her feel positive. Lately, she has developed muscle twitching and 'tics'...nervous jumps...these are occuring with alarming frequency and are clearly visable if you are looking in the right place. That sounds neurological to me...but perhaps I am unfamilar with all the different manifestations of CFS. I am pushing for a neurology, rheumatology and endocrinology consult. To rule out myastenia gravis, ALS, various neourological pathologies and whatever else they can think of that I can't.
Any thougts would be appreciated. I feel for everyone on the board who either has this or is living with it. It totally sucks.
