I am about to start taking Strattera tomorrow and wanted to hear about some side effects from people currently taking it. I am very concerned with weight gain as I have had and still battle with eating disorders. Has it made anyone gain weight? Also i read that it can cause constipation? Has anyone noticed this? I haven't read anything about sexual side effects in women....have any women experienced any negative sexual side effects? I would really appreciate everyones help. Thanks!

My son takes Strattera. He initially had some fatigue and loss of appetite with mild weight loss. That improved with time. He definitely is not gaining weight on it and doesn't seem to have any trouble with constipation. It's not unusual to have a bit of nausea at first - taking it with food seems to help. Some people find that if they take it in the morning, they have more trouble with daytime fatigue and then insomnia at night. My son takes it at bedtime.

it causes a decrease in appetite
the weight loss is not as significant as with stimulants (dextroamphetamines & ritalin)
