Hello,
I am brand new to this board. I would like some feedback on my situation. About 12 yrs ago I had Hodgkins stage 2B. I was treated with surgery chemo and radiation. Have been cancer free since then. Six months ago I began having fevers night sweats fatigue but no swollen lymphs. I went to see my doc who did some tests and sent me on to an Oncologist. He told me my lymphocytes have tripled in three months and my white cells have more than doubled. He did some more tests and said if it is cancer it is NOT Hodgkins but a non Hogkins lymphoma. Is this possible??? Any or all feedback would be apprecaited. COuld someone tell me what lympocytes do??

Thanks in advance

Constance

Dear Constance, It may have been that 12 years ago they didnt know the difference between hodgkins and non hodgkins.....the night sweats and fevers could be NHL, have u weight loss etc.....Or it could be the menopause.....if ou are of that age, Please tell me where u had the hodgkins etc...Lymphocytes and white bloods fight infection, they multiply to attack like in a virus etc.....Hope all is well Janie B

The radiation and chemo may have started something new. Hopefully it is not NHL. You need to get a diagnosis before you can have any course of action.

If it is NHL (by bone marrow biopsy) then please e-mail back. I may have a place in Switzerland that is really on top of a new therapy that is working. It is a combination of heat and antibodies against the lymphoma cells.
