from what i understand (research, not experience with surgery), sciatica (which sounds like your problem) can be a result of surgery. if it's lasts too long (2 months??? guess), then i would work with a neuro and ortho to see if it's a separate problem.
keep us posted! lots of sciatica sufferers here, so a wealth of info for you if you find out it's not from the surgery. good luck!!!

After surgery, your nerves are angry from being pinched, moved around, etc. It can take up to one year for it to go away. Keep in mind though, that the pain should not keep increasing. If it does, call your dr. and let him know.

I think I remember seeing another post from you about walking on a treadmill. If you've been doing that, your muscle pain could be from that. I started walking on a treadmill last week (8 weeks after my fusion), and I had some muscle aches in my legs and buttocks- I think because the treadmill doesn't offer any shock absorption. I cut my speed down a little bit, and walked for less time, and it seemed to help a little bit. Good luck!

thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. I have taken a day off and just relaxed and used heat and ice (mostly ice). I'm out of percocet and hoping I can get through without pain pills now. I still have some muscle relaxer and I'll go slower on the treadmill - much slower - for a while! Thanks. Becky
