What is the best medication for someone who has ADD but there NOT hyperactive? Another question; If someone who has a very bad anxiety/panic disorder takes medication for ADD, will that make there anxiety level go up or send them into a panic?

The same meds are used for inattentive ADD as for ADHD. Yes, some patients experience more anxiety/panic on stimulants. Some actually find stimulants calming, however. It's difficult to predict how someone will react to medication.

*strattera is a stimulant-free medicine for add / adhd
*ritalin / concerta (Methylphenidate) is a milder stimulant
*adderall / dexedrine (Dextroamphetamines/ Amphetamines) more stimulating
*desoxyn (Methamphetamine) is the strongest form of medicine

Ok. I was just woundering because I cant concentrate on anything, I cant pay attention, I feel stupid most of the time. I really have a hard time remembering things. I cant finish things when I start them because I end up going to do something else. I also have severe panic attacks when I take any medication that is a stimulant. Thats why I was asking about the add meds.
Thanks

Hi!
I recommend that you go to a doctor and ask them to put you on concerta. I'm using that right now for my inattentive ADD and it seems to be good. Of course I might have to get a higher doseage but I haven't had any bad side effects or anything like that and I am focusing better than before! it's great! I also have the same problems as you do and am not hyperactive at all! College has been so difficult for me because of this ADD. Anyways,If concerta doesn't work well for you try another medication and you'll end up finding something that is just right for you. Hope everything works out for you!!
