It seems like everytime I get remotely close to relaxing about HIV I find some other terrible statistic, like "Approximately 5% of people infected with HIV develop antibodies after six months". I can't imagine waiting up to a year, being this mess that I have already been for the past 5 1/2 months. I have never had so much regret in my life, and thus I probably won't be able to truly rest until a year goes by I guess. I was feeling hopeful from having a negative 3-month test...it's going to be a long 6 1/2 months.

That only applies to people who already have suppressed immune systems like cancer or other immune disorders. 3 months is enough time for a healthy person to show antibodies

People with immune disorders or in the case of accidental needle sticks from drawing blood and have received antiviral therapy to try and stop
The infection have to keep an eye it for a year iv drug users can also be in that catagory under certain circumstances.
If you test in a 6 month period and the results are negative (WALK AWAY)
Best of luck.......

thank you...I have to stop digging up half-researched tidbits from the Internet. it's quite the bad habit ;) but reassuring answers and clarifications are music to my ears.

josie,
Take comfort from the 3 month test and try to forget.
You gave me a nice morning gliggle when I read "Le sigh!" I, OF COURSE, immediately thought of Pepe le Peu!:D:D
