Your adrenal glands do not produce enough cortisone for your body, and it is very manageable once you take control of it. In a normal person your cortisol level is 250, and in an adrenalin rush it goes up to 500. In an addisonian it is very low. (MY level of cortisone at diagnosis was 18!) Addisonians have a darkening of skin, a lack of appetite, constant fatigue, vomiting, nausea and a craving for anything salty (among other symptoms). I have had the disease for 11 years and I manage it with daily medication (dexamethasone and florinef). I am 20 now. Do you think this is what you have. GEt the test done, and the one on your thyroid too. |
