View Full Version : Worrysome Symptoms

Hodgkins survivor. Radiation in 1991. Chemo following a recurrance in 1998. MD's didn't find it until stage 4B so I am sceptical. New symptoms - rash (itchy bumps under skin) started on torso, moved to arms, legs and back. Prednisone for 5 days helped. It's back again. Difficulty swallowing and a cough for two weeks now. Stopped breathing at work Monday. A little weight loss. Oncologist says none of this is related to cancer. Only blood work he shared with me was sed rate 22 (slightly elevated). Said everything else was "normal" in June. If he can't feel a tumor or see one on chest x-rays he is oblivious. Nervous that recurrence or side affect of Chemo (Leukemia) is a possibility. Anyone gone through this before with ideas?

Hi KC, I am 22 months post chemo and i am having effects of the treatments myself one is Avascular Necrosis to both hips due to Prednisolone, the other is Osteoporosis to the spine caused by chemo and prednisolone.I was also warned of a small risk of Leaukemia due to chemo.
Good luck Keith.

Thanks Keith. Following up with the Dermatologist tomorrow and the Onc on the 9th. Hopefully everything is OK since this itching seems to be a pesky effect of this disease before and after treatment. Good luck with your hips and hang in there!
