I am 27, and though my periods have never been regular, they have never been so messed up. can any one tell me if this could be serious. my OBGYN says he feels a mass on my right ovary, by the time the sonogram was given, it was gone. they made it sould as though it could have bursted. the only way i am regualar is on BC...and i dont need bc, and really wish not to take it. my last period was 12-3, and on 3/3 i had a SLIGHT brownish discharge, so light and gone in less than a day. please help

did you have a pelvic ultrasound? get the most thorough one - i belive a pelvic and vaginal together is what you want.
you may have PCOS - that causes irregular periods.

you should definitely have a whole blood/hormonal workup to see what's happening. It's not normal that a 27 yr old has such irregular periods. I assume that you may want to have children later on and would like to be reassured that all fertility issues are resolved. There is a standard battery of tests that you should have done. Speak to your doctor about it...bc pills are not the solution, they simply mask the problem.

It sounds to me like the B.C.pills are not keeping you regular if you haven't had a period in 3 mo's. Maybe the dose of your B.C.pills is too high in progesterone which could cause you not to bleed. Have you ever thought of seeking alternative medical care? ;)
