View Full Version : D&C - What The Doctor Told My Husband

I had a D&C on 3/9 because I had experienced some postmenopausal bleeding in December for a couple of days. Haven't seen any bleeding since. Anyway, after the D&C my doctor told my husband that he was able to get a good biopsy sample (even though my huge fibroid prevented him from doing a hysteroscopy), that he didn't feel anything abnormal and also that my endometrial lining didn't seem as thick as he originally thought. Of course, my husband didn't question him any further but said the doctor seemed upbeat about what he found. Any thoughts on what all this means. I don't get the biopsy results for about 2 weeks and I'm a nervous wreck.

I don't have the answers you seek, However... My mom is 58 and just had a D&C done after post menopausal bleeding, wait 2 weeks and get the results. If they are not good, the dr said he would call. Well, he called and she just found out yesterday that she has Uterine Sarcoma. She must have a total Abdominal Hysterectomy w/ Bi-lateral Salpingo-oophorectomy. It removes the ovaries, uterus, tubes, some lymph nodes. I cannot say this is you, just don't take one drs word for it. Her first dr told her 'just because you haven't had a period for 11 years don't mean you went through menopause." BUT SHE DID!!! He should have taken biopsies and all, he did nothing and sent her home! Now, I may lose my mother because of one man's ignorance!! Be safe!! And take care!!
