First time posting. I was wondering if I could ask anyone for feedback who may have gone through being a straight in love with a gay man.

1.5 years ago I recieved a promotion at work, and I became a supervisor in a non-profit environment. I soon became close with a co-worker (Tom). In a short period of time, Tom and myself became very close in a short period of time. It felt like there may be a mutual attraction, but I thought I was imagining it. I thought I was imagining it because Tom is gay. One night, I had drinks with Tom and his partner of 5 years. Tom's partner went to bed and soon after Tom and I were having an emotional converstation and Tom asked me if he could french kiss me. I said yes and from there we began to have foreplay, but no sex. I wanted to have sex with Tom and when we were about to have intercourse, Tom told me his was HIV positive. Since that point, we no longer had any type of sexual contact. Since then Tom and myself have come very close.
I do have feels for Tom, but I asked him if he was interested in me more then a friend, yesterday and he said no, I am gay.
I am not sure what to do from here. We met today and ensured each other that we will be continuing our friendship.
If this has happened to anyone, please let me know
what your story is or if you have any suggestions for me.

Wow lots of other people aren't so lucky as you, Tom is decent enough to tell you his hiv status, if he didn't you could have been infected. I dont know if other people have had the same situation but judging from daily posts it seems unlikely
