Could someone PLEASE tell me if this is normal...My head seems to hurt on the top rt side. That is the side I feel my TMJ on most of the time. It is driving me crazy with worry. Sometimes right above my temples, other times, further up. Right now, the top of the back of my head. It worries me alot, that it may be something else. My CT scan came back fine, My reg DR has said it is TMJ, My ENT says it is TMJ. Maybe I am just worrying too much. It scares me sometimes......Thanks.

Hi. I don't know for sure your headache is due to tmj, but it certainly could be. It is one of the side effects from tmj. I get tension headaches on occasion, because the muscles surrounding my tmj get so overworked with all the pt and exercises I'm doing. My physical therapist said it's normal and the best thing to do is to try to relax for a few hours. And, if possible, take a muscle relaxer. Of course, trying to find a few hours during the day to relax is impossible, but I try, and it does help.
