Back in august 2003 I found two pea sized nodes on the back of my neck, one on each side. I mentioned them several times to my GP but he said that they were nothing to worry about. They are hard but movable, they flip to the other side when pressed on. They do not hurt but after being touched a couple of times I sometimes get the feeling of someone is putting a needle in the node, it's a very sharp, short pain. They didn't grow but I insisted on an ultrasound, which I got last december. The report says that the nodes are indeed clinical palpable. However, they are 0.7x0.4 cms and don't have the aspect of an adenopathy. The reports say that they are mostly likely small inclusion cysts or granulomas. They are still there, but I noticed that if they aren't being touched for a couple of weeks they do get a bit smaller. But they don't seem to go away.
considering the results from the ultrasound, would it be a wise decision to get them out? What are the chances of these nodes being cancerous?
I understand that "no aspects of adenopathy" meand that the nodes aren't enlarged to begin with, or am I wrong?

Adeno means gland like, and opathy means they are not sick or infected. The report from your description states that they are just clumps of tissue that are there because they grew that way. If they sting when you touch touch them it means they are near a nerve, and the nerve does not appreciate your touching it that way. So far you are ok. But, once every six months take a look and see if they have changed. If you look too often you can not be objective.

I have a bump on one side of my neck too. Mine is most noticable when my sinuses act up and sometimes i have pain just like you described. I've had it for about 12 yrs.
