:) ok its been awhile since i posted but i now have a new problem. i was almost never getting cold sores, but i believe now that i must shave everyday for new job (along with new career stress and cold weather), it is causing irritation and making me break out one sore after another. we all know it is very embarrasing and even worse i am at a new job! At one point i had taken half a pill(250g) of Valtrex a day suppressively when i was getting them often, and that seemed to work fine.

My questions-

Is there another medication i can take suppressively on a daily basis besides Valtrex? Maybe one that is just for Type 1? Nothing against valtrex, i'd just rather take another med if available so i dont have a valtrex bottle that is mainly for type 2 sitting around. Anyone take or have any experiences taking another med suppresively for severe cold sore treatment?
