I have been on Cymbalta since August. The medicine is great for me. PaxilCR worked 100% to control my anxiety but I gained 30 lbs. Since taking Cymbalta (which controls about 85% of my anxiety) I have lost the weight and feel great.
However, I have noticed that if I miss a dose I go nuts. I panic, sweat, get frusterated, and sometime down right mean until I have it in my system again. The panic that I experience during this time is 10 times worse than any anxiety I have on my own. Has anyone else experienced this???

Jubilee 82,
I have been taking cymbalta for about 2 weeks now, I think I forgot one dose but it's probably too early to ahve effected me. i am on 30mgs, you didn't say if you were on 30 or 60. Anyway, I'll let you know if I notice anything in the future, I have already noticed the sweating thing just form being on it. Maybe if someone reads this thread and knows anything about cymbalta withdrawls they could enlighten us?

Like I said, the overall effects of the drug have been incredible. I can live again...I am thinking about starting a family in the next year or two. It worries me that I may become dependant on the drug and not be able to stop for the pregnancy and perhaps for a period beforehand. I have been on anti's for about 4 years now. Currently, I am on 60mg of the cymbalta. the best I have ever felt was on the PaxilCR 25mg, but again...the weight. Even my mother made fun of it.
The sweating doesn't bother me. I have a hypothyroid so I am CONSTANTLY hot anyway. The hot flashes subsided for me within 2-3 weeks, though I didn't experience sleeping problems.

Cymbalta is in the same drug class as Effexor. In both cases, you cannot stop the drug cold turkey without withdrawl symptoms. If you decide to stop, you need to tell your doctor and they will set you up with graduated dosing so you can get off it slowly and avoid those problems.
For now, be happy, keep your medication refilled, and don't forget a dose!
