I recently had bacterial menigitis. Had four teeth pulled and was on MSIR and percocet for cervical and lumbar herniations so could not feel the sinus headaches I must have been having. Anyway Dentist did not put me on antibiotics and I contracted the menigitis. Laid on my death bed for four days in a coma. Then at hospital recovery from all of this they put me on high doses of morphine with a pump. Had to go to psy. ward for detox which took almost a week. Could not stop talking was main side effect. Long story short I AM A MIRACLE THE DOCTORS SAID. Now my pain management is going to put me on MS contin which the hospital pain management doctor had me on also. I will try anything rather than the surgerys. Just wanted to share this with all.

And we would be dumb to believe any less. You certainly ARE a miracle. So how are you feeling right now? Better, I hope? Much better?

Many of us are on or have been on MSContin. I am wondering, after such a detox, why are you having to go back on the MS? If you were going to need pain management then why detox you? And what kind of surgeries are you trying to avoid? I don't blame you...I avoid them like the plague, too. I hope you continue to improve and I hope also you keep us up to date of what is happening. Nothing we like more than good old fashioned positive progress!

Like Sparkle I'm also wondering why they would detox you and then put you on mscontin?? Doesn't make much sense to me.
I had a cousin that had meningitis when he was younger. He had a real fight to survive it also but I'm happy to say he is fine now and you'd never know he had it. I'm glad to see you overcame it too.
