Okay I already know that it takes time to feel better... but I have not really wanted to try the Effexor for what my dr thinks may be depression (I don't feel depressed but I am having a few symptoms that he says can be linked to it) I had an MRI and they found a few white spots, I have a neuro apt but my dr told me he would try this anyway.
Well I finally took my first pill on saturday night and woke up so nacious (spelling??) I couldn't belive how bad I felt... I mean the dr is telling me to take a drug and I feel fine, take the drug and I feel horrible... anyways allI could do was eat all day to stop the sick feeling... I even feel alseep in the afternoon I haven't napped in the afternoon in years. Well I didn't take another one last night... I know that is bad... today I am so light headed it is weird!
SOOOOOOOOOO my point I guess is has anyone else felt this way in the begining and how long did it last? I just don't know... I feel fine now and taking something that is suposed to help me , but in return makes me feel worse... I just don't get it!
Thanks for any input,
(my symptoms were/are: speech, forgetting words, poor concentration, can't sleep, memory, vision, pain in feet, tingling in hands and feet)

How long until your neuro appointment? I might be inclined to wait until you see the neurologist before persuing the Effexor. This is especially true if you aren't convinced that depression is the problem in the first place.

I second that advice.

Effexor can be quite difficult for some people to get off of.

I would like to add another voice to that opinion.
Effexor has the worst withdrawal side effects of anything I have ever taken.

I would really wait and see before going on a full regimen of the stuff. I do believe it helped me for a while but it is hellacious stuff to get off of.

Hope you are feeling better.

Goodness, go with your instinct and don't put poison in your body. I got put on amitryptiline and it was horrible, absolutely horrible, I felt like a zombie for 48 hours. I only took 1 pill and threw the rest away. There are so many other anti-depressants to take with fewer side effects.

Thank you all for your posts.. I am going to go with my instincts and hold off. I feel better today, yesterday was also a write off in regards to taking that one pill. After I see my neuro I will decide with him :O)
Thanks again, these boards are just wonderful.
