I have not been here on this topic before and Im not even sure if this is where I should be, I hope someone may know what is going on.

Well here goes Last Friday I had a pain in my lower stomache (Im not sure if this pain is related to what is happening now but thought I should add it just in case.) It was excrutating it felt like a ripping pain, when I moved the pain got MUCH worse. Every muscle tighting every little movement sent me into waves of this pain. It started to get better 30 min later and although I could still feel it I thought it was getting better at this time my youngest child asked me to put a movie on in her bedroom, which is not far from where I was, I made it about 10 steps before I was doubled over in pain crying. When I finally got back to the couch I was not in good shape. It took another 45-60 mins. for the pain to subside and than I felt tender, and had to walk gingerly for a while.

Today I had a bowel movement that was not normal. I almost alwasy have loose bowels but today it was black and grainy looking in diahrea form and smelled bad, (I understand that stool almost always smells bad but this was just different somehow). Im not sure what is going on or if I am just being paranoid.

Well if anyone has any info I would really appriecate it.

Thanks

Hi Cooki,

No, it's not normal to have ripping pain that causes you to double over and cry. I had pain like that and it happened to be a gallbladder isue. My husband took me to the ER and I had my gallbladder removed the next day. At first, we weren't going to go thinking that it was just gas or my stomach acting up, but it turned out to be much more. Your problem might not be gallbladder related, but there is something going on there. I would advise going to see a Gastroenterologist. He will know the appropriate tests to run to find out what is going on. It may be nothing. It may just be a stomach bug, but I would still go to see a GI just in case.

Good luck and Keep us updated :)

Thank you I will have my doc send me to a GI specialist. Im pretty sure its not my gall bladder because I have had it removed although I know you can still get gall stones after its been removed, also because the pain is just above my pelvic bone 2-3 inches. I also had my apendix removed so that shouldnt be it either. But if anyone can tell me what they think is going on I would really apprieciate it.

Thanks

Cooki... I agree with Firewoman... certainly get yourself checked out by a cetified GI Specialist. Anytime there is pain or some abnormalities, its a good idea to track the times it occurs and relay this information to the doctor. If you have a tear or (fissure) the doctor will determine the best coarse of action for you. I wish you well.

k.
