I had Lasik last week Tuesday and Im due for my check up tomorrow.

My eyes are weepy, dry at nigth, I cant keep the damn sheilds on (wake up and ive taken /peeled/fell off) , My eye lids have swollen on both eyes and my vision is so blurred I can handly see the screen this morning to type.

I have pain my left eye...sinmilair to when I tried contcat lenses and my focuseing on both eyes is far worse than before... everythings fuzzy, I am getting starburst's very badly at night from headlights and in general, I'm p**sed off about whole thing, sightly scared and very worried.

IS this normal ?. I felt fine a couple of days after the op.. now my vision and my eyes are terrible... my percription was -2.5 and -1.75...now its -cr*p and -bloddy awful... whats going on....I thougth I would get better not worse.......even the keys on this keyboard are out of focus

Will this improve...when ?... have I caused a problem ?... has somehting gone wrong ?

Toaster,
Did your doctor give you an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory? He or she should have given you 2 bottles of stuff to use. One should have been a prescription (the antibiotic) and the other one should have just been given to you post-op to keep any swelling down. I was instructed to use both of them for a week.
Good luck and take care.

Thanks,

I had my 7 day check up on weds.... left eye is longsighted, rigth eye is -5 shortsighted.... "both should be long sighted at this stage" was the comment, "but its still too early to tell"... "come back next week"..

Is this normal ??

Yes, I got both, a brown one (anti bacterial and a steroid,, FML). Using both, but both still inflammed and sore. Been told to continue with the FMl for another week.

Today both are not as bad as they were,. but my right eye vision is terrible...cant focus. It seems to be overnight my eyes are drying out so bad that they spend the day sore. Using "Refresh" every 1hour to keep the right one from hurting. Told to switch to Viscotears/hypromelloze....hope it helps..

I was so happy to hear that someone else is having the same problems! I also had the LASIK procedure about 1 week ago, and I am also very disappointed. My left eye turned out great (20/20) but my right eye is awful! More blurry than before the surgery for certain. They tell me that as the swelling goes down my vision will clear, but I've resigned myself to getting an enhancement as soon as possible. Is this an option for you?

I am so sorry that some patients here have had a poor recovery -- may I ask what laser was used for your Lasik? I saw a segment on TV this week where a local sports news reader had an EPI-Lasik procedure right there for the viewers to see and the patient was very pleased. I understand this is a 'flap-less' procedure and was quite impressed. Also, I saw an 8-minute operation the week before to remedy myopia and also the problem of up-close vision in older patients which consisted of replacing the lens of the eye with a type of contact lens implant to focus both near and far. I do not like mono-vision when I wear contact lenses and thought this to be an option, however costly at $7,000.

Hi, I was wondering whatever happened to you and your outcome since a few months have gone by. I had Epi-Lasik a week and a half ago and can not see well enough to function. The doc put a temporary correction contact in my better eye so that I could drive and do some things but, they keep on telling me that it may take some time. I' m getting scared.
