Can HIV be transmitted in the following situation....
Lately I was sharing a joint with people whom HIV status I don't know( let's assume its positive ), and I had a small cut on the centre of my inner lip(approximately 1mm long and 0.1 mm thin) which had occured about 7 hours before sharing the joint. Is it possible that HIV is transmitted this way ? I only had inhaled once from where I had the cut.
What about if someone else had a cut lip and put some blood on the joint, is HIV transmission possible this way ?

Very slim chance even if you and the other person had open wounds on there lips. Dont worry about it.

NO NO NO NO....first of all, HIV can only be transmitted through blood, breast milk and semen/vaginal fluids...so right there, I can only hope that nobody found a way to get either substance on the joint...IF somehow that occured, saliva acts as a barrier to the disease...it would probably have died in the air anyway in between passing it (HIV is a weak virus)...you're fine...Good luck

If it would make you feel better, then absolutley...however, there is such alittle chance of you catching HIV that it's totally up to you either way..

and if there was no visible blood on the joint then I can assure myself that no transmission can occur ?

yea you dont need to get tested, dont worry about it unless you had unprotected sex with someone

I've become paranoid from the day i deep kissed with someone i don't know very well and ever since I've been worrying from small incidents like this

HIV is very scary, but unless you've had unprotected sex/drug use then you honestly have no reason...go to the cdc or look for a post here that outlines risk factors for HIV, i promise you youll feel better...but always remember to have protected sex ALWAYS, even if someone tells you they've been tested or that they are clean...you can never go wrong

Unless the joint was dripping with blood and you found a way to inject it into you're lip I would have to say you're absolutely FINE ;)
